It’s been our fiercest competition yet, and we’ve made it to the Grand Final! 6 out of 104 hilarious people will battle it out, but only one can be crowned the absolute funniest winner of the Berlin New Stand-up Award 2024. Along with a secret jury, you decide who’s going to snatch this title! So come on down to Refugio and enjoy the finalists fight for your laughs and votes!

With a record number of more than 100 up-and-coming comedians taking part, this year’s Berlin New Stand-Up Award is really the fiercest, funniest and exciting competition so far! Come watch the finest fresh new faces from all around Germany work their guts out for the promise of eternal glory, monumental fame and 1000 EUR!

Kate Cheka (UK)
Kate Cheka, the globetrotting comedian, has graced stages across four continents and seven diverse countries. Her comedy journey began in Berlin, where she not only performed but also organised and hosted two remarkable shows: a femme-identifying open mic and a women of colour showcase.
Kate’s talent has garnered her well-deserved recognition, including being named a semi-finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards 2022 and earning the titles of Funny Women semi-finalist and One to Watch 2022. Her list of accolades extends to being a finalist in the Berlin New Stand-up Award, a nominee for the BBC Radio 4 Introducing New Comedy Award in 2019, and a Funny Women semi-finalist in 2021.

Carmen Chraim (LEB)
Carmen is a Lebanese comedian based in Berlin. She’s been living in Germany for such a long time to the point that she now eats her Hummus with paprika powder on top.
She’s been performing comedy for over 10 years in many European cities and worldwide. She is known to be a firecracker on stage due to her high energy presence, her high pitched voice that keeps dogs awake at night and sharp crowd-working style. She’s opened for some famous comedians such as: Judah Friedlander & Todd Barry.
