CRONENBERG’S GARDEN – exhibition feat. Emeli Theander & Aline Schwörer at SomoS

SomoS Arts, in collaboration with Curator-in-Residence Lindsay Inglis, is pleased to announce the exhibition Croneberg’s Garden, featuring the works of visual artists Emeli Theander and Aline Schwörer.
About the Exhibition:
Through the visual dialogue of sculpture and painting, the exhibition explores the changing relationship between humanity and the natural world. Building upon the themes such as human body fascination, physical transformation, technology, surrealism, and obscurity present in the artistic work of Canadian director David Cronenberg, the exhibition examines the complexities of the body’s relationship with the environment.
Theander’s paintings conjure dreamlike landscapes in which figures blend into their surroundings, dissolving the boundaries between the individual and the external world. In contrast, Schwörer’s sculptures evoke artifacts of an imagined future that visualize the Anthropocene, where human actions have led to the disappearance of traditional ecosystems.
