With a saxophone that looks more like a curved golden tube to scream through ©LF brings new meaning to the term “onomatopoiesis” (which traditionally denotes the process by which sounds belonging to alternate realities can become transcribed into this dimension so as to bring ontologically-novel-entities within temporary existential proximity). DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, August 7\, SomoS invites you to a talk and community gathering led by New York-based artist Eric Dickson\, focused on his SomoS residency project\, The Swan That Disappeared.\nBeginning with a simple “Missing Swan” poster\, Dickson’s project explores the psychological appeal of conspiracy theories. Members of the public were invited to express interest in\, or submit information about\, a suspicious swan that had mysteriously disappeared. Over several weeks\, the swan’s story has grown and mutated\, through a growing proliferation of publicly-posted materials\, voicemail messages\, audio installation elements\, live performances\, and bespoke interactions with individual members of the public who chose to get in touch.
