Google mostly suggests Syrian\, Lebanese or Egyptian roots\, others mention Palestine. It is\, however\, safe to say that Hummus is an Arabic dish which was happily adopted in most countries in the Middle East\, and has been making its way in recent years into the heart of western societies – being introduced on the shelves in supermarket chains\, sold on food events and incorporated an important feature in vegan lifestyle. \nAs for us\, Arabs\, Jews and Germans – the organizers of the Berliner Hummus Festival – we don’t really care: we simply gather together to celebrate a united love for this dish. For the seventh time\, we meet on a Sunday afternoon to feed our souls and our bodies\, and to emphasize those sweet pleasures that unite us all as humans\, way deeper than any identity that was forced upon us from birth. \nDifferent Hummus lovers from different countries will offer you their own personal interpretation of the dish\, while musicians and DJs will connect music from the Middle East with the local electronic scene in a wonderful open air party. \nEs ist schwierig zu bestimmen\, wo der Ursprung von Hummus liegt.
