Easy Rider (1969)
(English with German Subtitles)

(COVID-19 regulations apply. Please see bottom of post)

In 1969, Dennis Hopper, Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper set out to create one of the decade’s last great independent films, changing film forever.

Situated at the end of its decade, Easy Rider literally and symbolically marks the end of the romanticized 60s counter-culture movement.

The story is a simple one – in search of enlightenment, freedom, and, above all, an unattainable America, the pair of best friends and free-spirited hippies–Wyatt, aka Captain America, and Billy–set off on a long journey from Los Angeles to New Orleans, after a lucrative cocaine deal.

The ideology presented by Easy Rider arguably rides side-by-side with the very ideals of guerrilla independent filmmaking itself – the freedom of the open road, no plan and endless possibility.
