I’ve been talking about this one for a longggggg time and we’re finally ready to do it.
After a lot of thought and planning I’m finally ready to give you my take on the iconic McRib.
First I want to mention that probably the most important part of the original is the SHAPE itself. That ridculously fake looking rack of ribs shape complete with something that’s supposed to represent bones. I didn’t want to make these without that so thanks to the Berlin office of Formlabs the moulds have been 3D printed, ready to make these legit.
Unlike the original, which is simply ground pork, pressed into shape, mine will include actual rib meat from barbecue babyback ribs, slow cooked and shredded, then grilled and glazed with an authentic Memphis barbecue sauce.
That gets topped with diced white onion, sliced homemade garlic pickles and an extra lashing of that barbecue sauce before sitting pretty inside a polenta dusted bun, fresh from Bekarei.
If you want, you can upgrade it to a deluxe sandwich and add smoked streaky bacon (The Sausage Man Never Sleeps) and Swiss Cheese.
Vegans and veggies alike can get the same thing but I’ll make some of the patties from Next Level plant based meat and even mix some pulled barbecue jackfruit in there so you don’t miss out!
This one will be fucking epic, so get on board ASAP
