Next to it is the stage. This place stands for the change of the perceptibility of speed\, of the speed of time in the context of industrialisation in the past. Time structures have adapted to the exploitation mechanisms of late modernism and are socially dominant today. Alienation. The simultaneity of speed (the fast\, monotonous soundscape of the Borsig machines) manifests itself in capitalist modernity. Slowness excludes. And within the stumbling\, the getting lost in time structures\, clinical depressions and burn-outs are born. Through the critique of time\, perceptible as collective temporal experience and with its rhythm as its base\, a critique of today’s capitalist conditions can be concretely formulated. And alternative concepts can be made audible. An anti-experience of time. Drone music opens up a different experience of time\, when the sinus tone layers change subtly at unfamiliar intervals and audio sculptures are created\, they disturb us\, they intervene in our time grid and bring the normal experiences of time to a standstill. Silence. Enduring slowness (learning). LISTEN. Taking your time. Time is made flexible and priority is given to exposing the inner life of individual sounds. Hearing becomes the corrective of acoustic everyday reality\, defined in late capitalism at top speed. Hearing the unfamiliar\, being exposed to the stretching of time\, the slowness\, makes the temporal structures of late modernity comprehensible. It transforms them into conscious perception. It thus has potential for criticism (of capitalism). Noise music\, on the other hand\, pushes the sound of late modernism to other levels\, and anticipates the future. Until the industrial sounds\, the aestheticized screaming of the (Borsig) machines in unison creates a wall of sound that only drones. DRONE. White noise.Noise music also encapsulates an acoustic-aesthetic negativity in terms of capitalist social terrain. Noise music is also explicitly defined by intentional and random (collapses) and electroacoustic implosions. The Noise Music Set Up can be read as a metaphor for technological civilization and acoustically anticipates the next reactor catastrophe through the loss of control\, as well as the resulting feedback catatonia and radical frequency shifts and superimpositions. And thus metaphorically the loss of the repeatedly invoked security of technological practices and the idea of an infinite and history-less late capitalist age. As if in the feedback destructions the “Specters of Marx” (Derrida) become audible\, the promiseof a yet-to-be-redeemed future. Entropy. The decay of the capitalist\, temporal order acoustically anticipated. Machines are being separated off at the rate of progress. So the Kesselhaus\, in its true function\, is also in an acoustically-lethargic state. It has become silent through its non-value\, its uselessness. The functionality of the place is VISIBLE (but) silent. As a result of this separation\, the acoustic moment\, the audible\, was amputated\, the place left in a disturbing visually-dominant one-sidedness. With the festival\, this one-sidedness is temporarily lifted\, the audible is implanted in the visual aura. Broken by time. Corrosion. Time has inscribed itself fractally on the surfaces. Subjective fine structures\, created by oxidisation. The acoustic counterpoint. With music the optical perception is questioned with the dissolution of the concrete. To find oneself again in the formless\, in the dissolution of systems\, confronted with acoustic unpredictability. Played at this location\, the music eludes a formal construction plan and avoids the possibility of conceptualising the pieces as a completed work in the conventional sense. The music’s structure eludes concrete memories and does not become accessible as a mental object. Deterritorialization\, the extraction of hearing from defined systems. Leaving behind the territories of familiar structures in the context of the Western cultural understanding of music. The strictly-defined character of the place is acoustically undermined and transformed into processes. The platonic bodies are juxtaposed with the flowing\, acoustically-amorphous material. Listening to unpredictable music\, which is a constant process\, evading the cadences of conventional music.\nWith our festival\, we want to give room to a different experience of time at this location for a day. To infuse this place of the past with utopia.To give the room an acoustic aura and to relieve it of its real history. The lethargy of the place; to reverse the standstill and temporarily fill it with the creativity ofthe present.The curating of the festival explicitly refers to the bringing together of musical diversities from different contexts and with different approaches to the emergence and making of music.\n———————————————————————–\nBorsig steht als Synonym für diesen ungewöhnlichen und bedeutungsschwangeren Ort …materialisiert als Kessel in einem industriehistorischen Artefakt. Daneben die Bühne. Dieser Ort steht für die Veränderung der Wahrnehmbarkeit von Geschwindigkeit\, von Zeitgeschwindigkeit im Kontext der Industrialisierung in vergangener Zeit. Zeitstrukturen haben sich den Verwertungsmechanismen der Spätmoderne angepasst und sind heute sozial dominant. Entfremden. Der Gleichschritt der Geschwindigkeit (die schnelle\, monotone Geräuschkulisse der Borsig-Maschinen) manifestiert sich in der kapitalistischen Moderne. Langsam sein exkludiert. Und in dem Stolpern\, dem sich Verlaufen in den Zeitstrukturen werden klinische Depressionen\, Burn-Out geboren. Über die Kritik an der Zeit\, wahrnehmbar als kollektive zeitliche Erfahrung und ihrer Taktung als Grundlage\, kann eine Kritik an heutigen kapitalistischen Verhältnissen konkret formuliert werden. Und Gegenentwürfe hörbar gemacht werden. Ein Anti-Erleben von Zeit.\nDrone Musik eröffnet ein anderes Erleben von Zeit\, wenn sich der Sinuston in nichtgewohnten Zeitabständen subtil schichtet und Audioskulpturen entstehen\, die uns verstören\, in unser Zeitraster eingreifen und die gewohnten Zeiterfahrungen zum Erliegen bringen. Stille. Langsamkeit aushalten(lernen). ZUHÖREN. Zeit nehmen. Zeit wird dehnbar gemacht und die Priorität liegt auf der Freilegung des Innenlebens der einzelnen Klänge. Das Hören wird zum Korrektiv akustischer Alltagsrealität\, im Spätkapitalismus in Höchstgeschwindigkeit definiert. Das ungewohnte Hören\, das Ausgesetztsein der Dehnung der Zeit\, des Langsamen\, macht die Temporalstrukturen der Spätmoderne erfassbar. Überführt sie in die bewusste Wahrnehmung. Und enthält somit (kapitalismus-) kritisches Potential. Noise Musik hingegen treibt den Klang der Spätmoderne auf andere Level\, nimmt Zukunft vorweg. Bis sich die Industriesounds\, die Ästhetisierung des Kreischens der (Borsig) Maschinen in einem Klangteppich vereinen\, der nur noch dröhnt. DRONE. Weisses Rauschen. In der Noise Musik ist im Sinne des kapitalistisch gesellschaftlichen Terrains auch eine akustisch-ästhetische Negativität eingeschrieben. Noise Musik defininiert sich explizit auch überbeabsichtigten und zufälligen (Zusammen-) Brüchen und elektroakustischen Implosionen. Das Noise Music Set Up ist lesbar als Metapher der technologischen Zivilisation und nimmt über den Kontrollverlust und den dadurch erzeugten Feedbackkatatonien und radikalen Frequenzver- und überlagerungen akustisch die nächste Reaktorkatastrophe vorweg. Und somit metaphorisch auch den Verlust der immer wieder beschworenen Sicherheit technologischer Praktiken und dieVorstellung eines unendlichen und geschichtslosen spätkapitalistischen Zeitalters. Als ob in den Feedbackdestruktionen „Marx Gespenster“ (Derrida) hörbar werden\, das Versprechen auf eine nochausstehende\, nicht eingelöste Zukunft. Entropie. Der Zerfall der kapitalistisch\, zeitlichen Ordnung akustisch vorweggenommen. Die Maschinen werden ausgesondert\, in der Geschwindigkeit des Fortschritts. Und so befindet sich auch das Kesselhaus in seiner eigentlichen Funktion in einem akustisch lethargischen Zustand. Es hat durch seinen Nicht-Wert\, seine Unbrauchbarkeit Stille gewonnen. Die Funktionalität des Ortes ist SICHTBAR (aber) geräuschlos. Infolge der Aussonderung wurde das akustische Moment\, das Hörbare amputiert\, der Ort in einer verstörenden visuell dominanten Einseitigkeit hinterlassen. Mit dem Festival wird diese Einseitigkeit temporär aufgehoben\, der visuellen Aura das Hörbare implantiert. Und damit wird der historisch deutbaren visuellen Ästhetik ein akustischer Raum gegeben\, indem (Anders-) Erfahrungen\, Zeit erlebbares Neuland und ein enthistorisiertes (Er-)Hören des Ortes möglich wird. Das Kesselhaus in seiner Architektur und Ästhetik ist linear\, geometrisch strukturell durchzogen. In ihm materialisieren sich klare Formen\, die stromlinienartige Anordnung der Rohre\, welche die Organe des Ortes verbinden. Polyeder\, platonische (Körper) Zentren. Ein Organismus\, die Syntax des Linearen\, der Form. Durchbrochen von der Zeit. Korrosion. Die Zeit hat sich fraktal auf die Oberflächen eingeschrieben. Subjektive Feinstrukturen\, oxidierend entstanden. Der akustische Kontrapunkt. Mit der Musik wird die optische Wahrnehmung mit der Auflösung des Konkreten in Frage gestellt. Sich wiederfindend im Formlosen\, in der Auflösung von Systemen\,konfrontiert mit der akustischen Unvorhersehbarkeit. Die an diesem Ort gespielte Musik entzieht sich einem formalen Konstruktionsplan\, vermeidet die Möglichkeit der Konzeptualisierung der Stücke als abgeschlossenes Werk im herkömmlichen Sinn. Die Musik entzieht sich in ihrer Struktur der konkreten Erinnerung\, wird nicht als mentales Objekt zugänglich. Deterritorialisierung\, die Herausführung des Hörens aus definierten Systemen. Die Territorien der gewohnten Strukturen im Kontext des westlich- kulturellen Musikverständnisses verlassend. Der streng in Form definierte Charakter des Ortes wird akustisch unterminiert\, in Prozesse überführt. Den platonischen Körpern wird das Fließende gegenübergestellt\, akustisch amorphes Material. Das unvorhersehbare Hören einer Musik\, die ständiger Prozess ist und sich den Kadenzen konventioneller Musik entzieht. Wir möchten mit unserem Festival an diesem Ort für einen Tag ein anderes Erleben von Zeit einen Raum ermöglichen. Diesem Ort der Vergangenheit Utopie einflößen. Dem Raum eine akustische Aura geben und ihn seiner eigentlichen Historie zu entheben. Die Lethargie des Ortes\, denStillstand aufheben und ihn temporär füllen mit der Kreativität des Jetzt.
