DESCRIPTION:Ten Ways to Relax During a Nuclear Apocalypse\nSolo Show by Vincent Pfäfflin \nOpening on May 1\, 2025\, 6 – 9 p.m. \nExhibition from 1.5. to 4.5. \nOpening hours: 3 – 7 p.m.\, Friday\, Saturday and Sunday \nVincent Pfäfflin is a German-American artist and stand-up comedian. Growing up in the USA and now living in Berlin\, he is shaped by an outside view of German society. He became known for his laconic stage programs and appearances on TV Total\, NightWash and as the winner of the RTL Comedy Grand Prix. In addition to his comedy\, Pfäfflin also creates visual art – often in the field of tension between street art\, pop culture and personal reflection. Between 2012 and 2015\, he was active as a street Art_Künstler under the pseudonym ‘Peter Pink’ – with temporary installations\, interventions in urban space and paintings\, some of which were published internationally in magazines and online. \nThe exhibition shows Vincent Pfäfflin’s visual works beyond the stage – independent works between street art\, comics and pop aesthetics. In his paintings\, reduced lines\, two-dimensional colouring and pointed lettering come together. Pfäfflin uses graphic means from the world of comics to get to the heart of everyday moments\, absurdities and emotional miniatures. His works are often reminiscent of urban interventions: quickly thrown\, but closely observed. In terms of content\, the works oscillate between wit and melancholy\, between laconic commentary and quiet irritation. They provide insight into fragmented thinking – spontaneous\, sharp\, sometimes almost casual\, but never arbitrary. The works seem like frozen thought bubbles in public space\, humorous and at the same time deeply anchored in the now.

DESCRIPTION:Towards the end of 2021\, a small group of nearly 30 people in Berlin experienced something they had never experienced before: for around three hours\, they remained in a venue where the air pressure variations created by special compositions played through subwoofers immersed their bodies and hijacked their focus\, leading them into another state of mind.\nA few months later\, nearly 100 people in Lisbon went through the same process. Some cried in liberation\, one left in panic\, and a few fell asleep. Yet\, about 95% of them left the venue reporting what became the most recurring feedback:\n🗣 “I feel like my mind and my body are one.”\nThe music was created by both Deaf and hearing artists. The vibrations embraced them from head to toe\, and the sensation felt as if it was coming from inside—a familiar\, visceral\, yet entirely new mix of silence and music.\nThese were the first showcases of Sub_Bar music. Over the years\, rising Deaf talents trained with established artists at Sub_Bar Academy\, working exclusively with low frequencies. Some of them went on to perform at major music stages\, including ADE Festival in Amsterdam\, Silent Green in Berlin\, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Serralves.\nThere are no recordings of these shows—because they are ephemeral. You cannot simply watch them or listen to them at home.\nNow\, The Sub_Bar Show #1\, premiering this April in nearly 30 cities worldwide\, marks the final step of this long journey—from 0 to 1\, establishing a new music style for the sense of touch and a ritual that brings together Deaf and hearing communities.
